Overeating means eating more calories than your body needs at a given time to function. Whenever you are overeating, you are feeding your fat cells. Those excess calories, whether they are from iceberg lettuce or ice cream, are not needed by your body, so they are stored in your fat cells. You may overeat for many reasons: sometimes simply from habit, and other times because you are socially conditioned.
